What to do and where to go to make the most out of your 2 hours couple photoshoot session in one of the most enchanting Italian area

Lake Como is one of the most breathtaking locations for a couple’s photoshoot - its timeless elegance, shimmering waters, and postcard perfect villages make it the ideal backdrop to document your love.

However, given its popularity, it can also get quite busy, especially in peak season. If you’re dreaming of a more intimate and relaxed experience, here are some ideas to make your session both unique and unforgettable.

1) A PRIVATE BOAT RIDE: A TIMELESS AND ROMANTIC ESCAPE: one of the best way to experience Lake Como - and capture beautiful photographs - is from the water. Renting a private boat is not only a way to escape the crowds but also a chance to see things from a different perspective, a perspective you just won’t have from the ground. The atmosphere will be intimate - the two of you, away from busy spots - enjoying the ride with the perfect, stunning background of the villages and spectacular villas overlooking the lake. One hour boat trip is more than enough to take your photos and enjoy the experience. My suggestion is to book it in advance to choose your preferred boat and time - but let’s coordinate together to plan it. I consider this a must do for a perfect photoshoot in the area.

2) THE ELEGANCE OF HOTEL INTERIORS - UNIQUE ANDS INTIMATE SETTINGS: many of Lake Como’s finest hotel are not only luxurious places to stay but also offer breathtaking locations for a photoshoot. The interiors of these historic hotels can be the perfect setting for elegant and sophisticated portraits: soft light, vintage forniture, marble sculptures, pieces of art, old mirrors, grand staircases, beautifully decorated suites - just to mention a few - they all can add a timeless, cinematic and playful touch to your photos. Moreover, staying in a hotel allows for the perfect opportunity to change outfits between different sections of your shoot, adding variety and freshness to your photos.

3) BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR SPACES: PRIVATE HOTEL GARDENS OR EXCLUSIVE VILLAS BOTANICAL GARDENS: as a last option for your photoshoot in Lake Como area, my suggestion, if you want to stay away from crowded places, is taking advantage of the beautiful outdoors overlooking the lake that many hotels can offer or booking a photo access to the botanical gardens of one of Lake Como’s historic villas. Villa Balbianello, Villa Monastero, Villa Carlotta offer this opportunity with stunning landscapes. In this case, we took advantage of the private garden of Hotel Villa Flori.

In my opinion, the perfect combo is option n. 1 - the private boat tour - plus the hotel or the botanical gardens of a Villa. Strolling around one of the beautiful villages may also be an alternative, but be aware there will be many people around - unless you decide to plan your photoshoot very early in the morning.
